BOSTON (AP) _ Quarterback Brad Wilford ran into the end zone from the 1-yard line with two seconds left to carry Harvard over Princeton 13-6 Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers (2-4, 0-3 Ivy League) had tied the score at 6-6 when Taylor Northrup kicked a 52-yard field goal with 3:34 remaining. It was his career best, the longest field goal for Princeton in 34 years and just shy of the school record of 54 yards.

But Northrup turned from hero to goat on the ensuing kickoff as he slipped and fell while kicking off and Harvard (4-2, 2-1) took over on their 42. Wilford then directed an eight-play drive for the winning points.

The Crimson took a 6-0 lead behind two first-half field goals by Mike Giampaolo _ including a career-high 44-yarder to cap Harvard's first possession of the game.

Northrup got the Tigers on the scoreboard 1:15 into the second quarter as he booted a 34-yard field goal.

Chris Menick had 27 carries for 165 yards for the Crimson while Wilford completed 11 of 24 passes for 101 yards.

Cam Atkinson paced the Tigers with 18 carries for 44 yards and Tommy Crenshaw completed 21 of 40 passes for 242 yards.

Princeton's leading rusher, Derek Theisen, did not play due to an unspecified violation of NCAA eligibility rules.
