ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Tim Rattay passed for 561 yards and five touchdowns as Louisiana Tech beat Central Florida 46-35 Saturday night. Rattay passed five players, including Heisman Trophy winners Doug Flutie and Danny Wuerffel, to move into sixth place on the NCAA's career passing yardage list with 10,984. He also moved into sixth place in total offense with 10,906 yards. Rattay completed 46 of 62 passes and threw TD passes to three receivers. Sean Cangelosi had 14 catches for 227 yards and two TDs, John Simon had 12 for 122 yards, and James Jordan grabbed 10 for 95. David Newman had two touchdown catches for Tech. Tech (5-2) outgained Central Florida (2-5) 590 yards to 491. Central Florida cut Louisiana Tech's lead to 39-28 with 7:52 remaining when Vic Penn hit Tavirus Davis with an 11-yard touchdown pass. But Rattay led Tech downfield and Arthur Jefferson scored from the 1 to give the Bulldogs their final touchdown. Central Florida added a 6-yard touchdown pass from Penn to Kenny Clark with 1:13 remaining for the final margin. Central Florida trimmed Tech's lead to 26-14 on Omari Howard's 3-yard TD run with 1:25 remaining in the third quarter. But Rattay hooked up with Caneglosi on a 6-yard TD pass with 14:13 remaining in the game for a 32-14 lead. Penn scored on a 23-yard run to close it to 32-21 but again Rattay answered. This time he needed two plays and 44 seconds to find Allen Stark on a 42-yard scoring pass with 12:40 remaining in the game.
