HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Mark Washington passed for 266 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score Saturday as Jackson State defeated Alabama A&M 28-18. The teams traded touchdowns in the first half, including a 99-yard kickoff return by Alabama A&M's Kenyo Hambrick. But both of the Bulldogs' extra-point conversion attempts failed, so Jackson State (5-2, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 14-12 at halftime. In the second half, Washington hit Sylveste Morris with an 11-yard TD pass, and ran in from the one for another score with a minute left in the game. Alabama A&M (4-4, 1-1) managed only one touchdown, a 1-yard run by Jeremia Rogers. Washington was 18 of 34 with one interception. Destry Wright gained 211 yards on 32 carries for Jackson State. Morris caught nine passes for 118 yards and Leroy Fields caught five for 109 yards. A&M's Phillip Macklin was 5 of 13 for 85 yards, and Kelly Fields caught four passes for 89 yards.
