FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) _ Drew Miller threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns while Yohance Humphrey scored twice on the ground as Montana beat Northern Arizona 42-23 Saturday night. The win kept the seventh-ranked Grizzlies (5-1, 4-1 Big Sky) tied with Portland State atop the league standings while the No. 21 Lumberjacks (3-3, 1-2) lost their second consecutive game. Montana had 508 yards in total offense as Miller, a junior transfer from Brigham Young, completed 22 of 32 passes and Humphrey rushed for 111 yards on 25 carries. The Grizzlies led 28-6 at halftime and were only threatened once, when Northern Arizona closed to 28-16 on Travis Brown's 92-yard pass to Francis St. Paul with 5:32 remaining in the third quarter. ``I think tonight's game is an indication that it's not easy to win on the road,'' UM coach Mick Dennehy said in a radio interview. ``I told the kids before we came down here that we need to bottle whatever we have in the Griz locker room and bring it.'' Jeremy Watkins scored on a 13-yard reverse play late in the third quarter, and Montana coasted from there. Humphrey had TD runs of 6 yards in the first quarter and 4 yards in the fourth quarter as the Grizzlies got 142 rushing yards while holding the Lumberjacks to just 54 yards on 19 tries. ``We're getting better and that's all we can ask of them,'' Dennehy said. Jimmy Farris caught touchdown passes from 17 and 19 yards out and Travis Walker hauled in a 5-yard scoring toss from Miller before halftime. Miller suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter and was replaced by redshirt freshman Nick Walker. ``With Drew going down, we kind of had to get real conservative,'' Dennehy said of his team's focus on rushing during the latter part of the game. Ty Dondelinger kicked field goals of 47, 35 and 27 yards out for Northern Arizona with Ronny Jenkins scoring on a 12-yard pass from Brown with 8:50 to play to close out the game's scoring. Brown finished 29-of-55 for 382 yards. He now has 9,793 career passing yards, second on the school's all-time list behind Greg Wyatt's 10,697 set from 1986-89 and 10th on the NCAA Division I-AA list. Brown's third-quarter bomb to St. Paul was his 71st career touchdown, breaking Wyatt's school record of 70.
