WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) _ James Jenkins blocked Stephen Mirasolo's 26-yard field guard try as time expired as Holy Cross held on to beat previously undefeated Fairfield 24-23 Saturday. The loss also snapped Fairfield's 13-game winning streak over two seasons, the longest in I-AA. Holy Cross (2-4) led 24-20 going into the final quarter before Fairfield (5-1) pulled within one on Mirasolo's 36-yard field goal with 5:30 to play. Fairfield quarterback Jim Lopusznick's running and passing then keyed a 72-yard drive to the Crusader 10 in the last three minutes, setting up the failed field-goal attempt. Holy Cross was led by quarterback Ryan Collar, who passed for two touchdowns, a 73-yarder to Kendy Hall and a 40-yarder to James Conrow. Conrow also ran for an 8-yard touchdown. The Stags, ranked eight nationally in total yardage (470.8) and points (40.6), logged 495 yards on the game.
