SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Backup quarterback T.D. Croshaw tossed four touchdown passes to lead Utah to a 42-0 rout of Louisiana-Monroe in the first-ever meeting between the schools. Croshaw replaced injured starter Darnell Arceneaux in the first quarter and completed 9-of-17 passes for 166 yards without an interception. He connected with Boo Beninger on a pair of scoring strikes, including a 32-yarder with 6:57 remaining in the first half that gave the Utes (4-1) a 14-0 lead. Croshaw hit Steve Smith with a 10-yard TD pass just over two minutes before intermission to extend the lead to 21-0. Utah blew the game wide open in the third quarter when Croshaw found Beninger and Smith with touchdown passes of 12 and 49 yards, respectively. Arceneaux opened the scoring when he connected with Donny Utu on a 56-yard scoring strike 25 seconds into the contest. He re-aggravated a sprained right foot during a 14-yard run on Utah's next possession. Andy Chance completed 14-of-29 passes for 148 yards with two interceptions for Louisiana-Monroe (2-4), which was limited to 219 total yards. Utah posted its first shutout since a 66-0 trouncing of Idaho State in 1994.
