MACOMB, Ill. (AP) _ Joe Lopez kicked a 24-yard go-ahead field goal just before the half and added a 46-yarder with 1:44 left Saturday as Western Illinois beat previously undefeated Elon College 20-14. Western Illinois (4-2) entered the game ranked No. 24 in Division I-AA. Elon was 22nd. Western jumped out with two first-quarter touchdowns on a 10-yard run by Charles Tharp and 13-yard scoring run by J.R. Ford. Elon rallied for a tie on Daren Bethea's 2-yard run and a 26-yard pass from Derrick Moore to Brian Broadie that came with 39 seconds to go in the half. Western then regained the lead on Lopez's 24-yarder on the final play of the half. Elon outgained Western on the ground 240-32 and had a 422-237 advantage in total offense but lost four fumbles. Steve Ferguson rushed for 75 yards and Chris Bryan 74 for Elon. Bobby Starks of Western caught four passes for 89 yards.
