MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) _ Walter Hill caught seven passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns as Tennessee Tech defeated Tennessee-Martin 45-9 Saturday. Hill scored on a 55-yard pass from Grant Swallows to put the Golden Eagles (2-1, 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference) ahead in the first minute of the game. Hill scored again a 25-yard pass from Michael Peeples with 3:25 left in the first half. The Skyhawks (1-4, 0-3 OVC) never overcame Tech's offense, which accumulated 219 yards rushing compared to Tennesse-Martin's 55. Chad Evitts scored on a 14-yard blocked punt return with 3:22 remaining in the first, and David Collett scored on a 36-yard field goal at the half-time buzzer. Tennessee-Martin picked up 2 points with 3:20 remaining in the first quarter when Mark Neal blocked a Tech extra point and ran it to the end zone. Adam Joyner scored again for Tennessee-Martin on a 32-yard pass from Matt Burlsen with 3:22 remaining in the game. Nick Solomon picked up 91 rushing yards, and Swallows was 11 for 14 and threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns.
