RECAP
NEWARK, Del. (AP) _ In what was supposed to be a matchup of the two of the top defensive teams in the Atlantic 10, Delaware outlasted Richmond 41-33 Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 22,082 at Delaware Stadium. The teams combined for 959 yards for the game and 47 points in the second quarter alone. Delaware (4-1, 2-1) outgained Richmond, 550-409, marking the first time this season the Blue Hens gained over 400 yards in total offense. The Hens avenged a 45-6 loss to the defending Atlantic 10 champion Spiders a year ago. Delaware used a nice balance of run and pass as quarterback Matt Nagy enjoyed his best effort of the season, hitting on 13 of 20 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown. Jamin Elliott caught five passes for 109 yards and a touchdown and also scored on a reverse. Halfback Butter Pressey had a career-high 114 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns, while fullback Steve Ricco added 89 yards and a score. Richmond QB Jimmie Miles connected 16 of 26 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Muneer Moore, who caught nine passes for 138 yards. Halfback TyRonne Turner rushed for 103 yards, including a 64-yard scoring jaunt with 3:12 left in the first half that cut the Delaware lead to 21-20.
