CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) _ Waylon Chapman threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns to lead Eastern Kentucky past Southeast Missouri State 37-28 Saturday in the Ohio Valley Conference. A record crowd of 11,015 watched Eastern Kentucky (4-1, 1-0 OVC) jump to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, a string of scores that started when Chapman connected with Alex Bannister from 46 yards out. Derick Logan later added a 20-yard rushing score, and the Colonels added scores on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by Nick Sullivan and a 61-yard punt return by Nick Towns. Southeast Missouri (0-5, 0-3) then rallied, eventually knotting the game at 28 on Leslie Weaver's 42-yard touchdown catch from Bobby Brune in the third quarter. Eastern Kentucky answered in the fourth quarter on a 53-yard touchdown pass from Chapman to Tyrone Browning. Jason Martin added a 28-yard field goal.
