OXFORD, Miss. (AP) _ Greg Zolman hit Elliott Carson for an 8-yard touchdown pass in overtime Saturday as Vanderbilt beat Mississippi 37-34 for its first Southeastern Conference road victory in five years. Ole Miss (2-1, 0-1 SEC) scored first in overtime on Les Binkley's 34-yard field goal. Vanderbilt (2-1, 1-1) responded with a touchdown six plays later. Vanderbilt lost 3 yards on its first play, but Zolman hit Carson for 13 yards and a first down. With Vandy facing third-and-goal, Zolman caught Ole Miss coming on a blitz and dumped a screen pass to Carson for the game-winner. Ole Miss failed to pick up a first down on its overtime possession and opted for Binkley's field goal on fourth-and-2 from the 17. Zolman finished 22-of-39 for 344 yards and two touchdowns. He was just 5-of-13 for 68 yards with two interceptions at halftime, when the Commodores trailed 17-7. The Commodores' last SEC road victory was 24-6 at Kentucky in 1994. For third-year coach Woody Widenhofer, it was only his second victory in 18 SEC games. Vanderbilt overcame a 14-0 deficit to lead 24-17 on Rodney Williams' 1-yard run midway through the fourth quarter after Zolman's 83-yard pass to Tarvarus Hogans, Ole Miss responded with two touchdown drives. Romaro Miller connected with Corey Peterson on a 40-yard TD pass to tie the game with 6:07 left. After a Vandy punt, Deuce McAllister broke two tackles at the line of scrimmage and rambled 46 yards to put the Rebels up 31-24. Vanderbilt came back again, going 54 yards in 10 plays to score on Zolman's 3-yard pass to Todd Yoder with 49 seconds left. The TD came after Hogans converted a third-and-long by catching a ball tipped by defender Syniker Taylor inside the 5. The Rebels lost yardage on a running play, then opted to kill the final 45 seconds and play overtime. Ole Miss took a 14-0 lead when Gunn converted a screen pass into a 71-yard TD in the first quarter and scored on a 13-yard TD run in the second quarter. Taylor intercepted two passes off Zolman in the first half and the Rebels appeared on the way to their seven straight victory over Vanderbilt. Zolman got Vandy on the board with a 1-yard keeper, but the Rebels led 17-7 at halftime after Binkley's 21-yard field goal followed runs of 41 and 19 yards by Gunn. Vanderbilt scored 10 third-quarter points to tie the game. Nick Markham kicked a 41-yard field goal and Zolman scored on a 4-yard run.
