BOX SCORE
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) _ New Mexico's three quarterbacks each produced first-half touchdowns and the Lobos won for only the second time in 13 games, beating Northern Arizona 45-14 Saturday night. New Mexico (1-2) beat one of its most obliging opponents. New Mexico owns a 23-3 edge in the series with the Division I-AA Lumberjacks and the Lobos' largest margin of victory ever came against Northern Arizona, 108-0, in a 1916 game that was stopped after three quarters because of darkness. The Lobos needed just the first half this time. Northern Arizona (1-1) got just two first downs in the first 30 minutes, then got two big-play TDs in the second half. Quarterback Travis Brown threw touchdown passes of 43 yards to Ronney Jenkins and 53 yards to Stevan Fontana. New Mexico, which finished with 616 yards, scored on three of its first four possessions and by halftime led 31-0. Fullback Holman Wiggins scored the first of his three touchdowns on a 5-yard run on the Lobos' opening drive and Ted Iacenda caught a 39-yard TD pass from starting quarterback Eric Jaworsky with 5:45 left in the first quarter. Backup quarterback Justin Mobley scored from four yards on the first play of the second quarter and third-stringer Sean Stein threw a 20-yard TD pass to Wiggins. The Lobos' 341 yards at halftime was more than they had managed in either of their first two games. Jenkins, a former standout running back at BYU who was expelled last year for violating the school's Honor Code, didn't hurt the Lobos as he did when he was running behind the Cougars' offensive line. Jenkins, who scored on a 52-yard reception and 52-yard run against New Mexico last year in a 46-21 BYU victory, had just 36 yards on 14 carries and caught five passes for 80 yards.
