PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) _ Deontay Wilson caught three touchdown passes and DeMelvin Kelley rushed for 77 yards to lead Prairie View to a 21-7 victory over Howard Payne on Saturday.

Prairie View (1-1) held Howard Payne to only 92 total yards as the Panthers won for the first time since ending their NCAA-record 80-game losing streak last year at Langston.

Wilson scored on passes of 30 and eight yards from Josh Barnes, and caught another touchdown pass from Jamaal Foster. Three Prairie View quarterbacks combined to complete 11 of 22 passes for 164 yards and no interceptions.

Howard Payne (1-1) did not score until Kendrick White's one-yard touchdown run with 7:54 remaining in the game. Richard Green rushed 20 times for 95 yards in a losing effort, while Wes St. Aubin was 8-of-28 for 89 yards and had three passes intercepted.
