During ESPN.com's 2002-03 Season Preview, the results of a national survey of Division I coaches and players (more than 170 responses) will be unveiled. The graphs below are broken down into three categories: Players, Coaches and Overall results. The comments were made with the assurance no names would be used, allowing those who must deal with the toughest elements this season to express their true feelings entering the 2002-03 season.

Toughest Fans/Expectations?

"Tubby won it all in 1998. "When the Tar Heels don't win, it falls on the coach, and his job is questioned." ----------------------------------- "The expectations following Dean Smith is a lot on Doherty's shoulders." ----------------------------------- "The legend of Dean Smith makes anything less than 20 wins and the Sweet 16 a failure." ----------------------------------- "Tradition, expectations are high, even when the team is terrible."

"Nothing will every be good enough after 30-plus years of success under Dean Smith." ----------------------------------- "Duke is right down the road ... nothing short of national title satisfies UNC fans." ----------------------------------- "Expected to get to the Final Four every year ... expectations created by Dean Smith's accomplishments."

"Because they have won more championships than any other team, and John Wooden is still visible to remind everybody." ----------------------------------- "Even when they win, they can't win enough. ...
