IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Fans will have to wait three years, but Iowa basketball coach Steve Alford and Texas Tech's Bob Knight -- Alford's coach at Indiana in the 1980s -- will meet again.

Alford said Wednesday the Hawkeyes have scheduled two games against Texas Tech, where Knight is entering his second season as coach, beginning with the 2004-05 season.

"It's going to be fun," Alford said.

Alford said the teams will meet in the 2004-05 at the United Center in Chicago and the following season at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Alford has faced Knight only once since taking the Iowa job.

In Knight's final season at Indiana, the Hoosiers beat Iowa 74-71 in Bloomington on Jan. 18, 2000.
