The Tigers' starting five is really solid. They have a terrific backcourt led by Torris Bright, who does a little bit of everything -- handle, shoot, defend. Lamont Roland is a good role player, doing whatever John Brady asks of him.

In the front court, it all starts with Stromile Swift, my choice for conference player of the year. The 6-9 Swift has developed into a great player. Brian Beshara has been a welcome transfer pickup. At 6-8, he gives LSU a small forward who can play inside and shoot from the perimeter. The Tigers have a big center in Jabari Smith, who had a solid season.

The Tigers have everything going for them, but their only question is depth. LSU only goes six or seven deep at the most. But if the Tigers can get a few breaks, they are capable on the strength of their starting five to get to the final eight. -- Larry Conley, ESPN
