Normally a team has to win the West Coast Conference tournament to get a bid. But this year, Pepperdine and Gonzaga played strong non-conference schedules and both earned their berths. Pepperdine employs plenty of balance -- seven players average seven plus points, led by Brandon Armstrong at 14 points per game.

(A) Brandon Armstrong (3) starts on the block and pops out to the top of the key off a Nick Sheppard (52) screen.
(B) Armstrong (3) gets the ball at the top of the key and penetrates off a high ball screen from Kelvin Gibbs (32).

(C) The Waves clear out the left side, and let Armstrong go to work on his own. He has the ability to create off the dribble, and Pepperdine likes to ride his wave to victories.
