OXFORD, Miss. (AP) _ Mississippi won 12 of its first 13 games last season, none against top competition. This season the record's the same with higher quality victories.

Jason Flanigan scored 19 points to lead the 24th-ranked Rebels to a 94-59 victory over Morris Brown on Saturday, completing a non-conference schedule that included wins over No. 17 Oklahoma and No. 16 Southern California.

``I'm proud to be 12-1 at this point,'' Ole Miss coach Rod Barnes said. ``I think we're a better 12-1 than we were last year because we're playing better defense and shooting free throws better.''

Ole Miss extended its non-conference home winning streak to 43 games, the third-longest streak in the nation.

``If you had told me before the season that we'd be 12-1 now, I would've have taken it, no questions asked and then taken my wife out to dinner,'' Barnes said.

Morris Brown (2-11) trailed 12-0 and did not make a basket until Amien Hicks dunked with 12:27 remaining to cut the deficit to 19-5.

The Rebels led 52-17 at halftime as Flanigan had 17 points.

``We came out and took care of business from the start,'' Barnes said. ``We didn't get any favors opening the SEC at Vanderbilt and Arkansas, so we needed to play well today and for the most part, we did.''

Morris Brown was 6-of-23 from the field (26 percent) and committed 10 turnovers in the first half.

``Our offense was out of synch,'' Morris Brown coach Russell Ellington said. ``We did not do a good job on either side of the floor. I credit a lot of that to Ole Miss. Their defense was really good.''

Flanigan led six Rebels in double figures, including freshmen Justin Reed and Aaron Harper, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively. John Gunn added 12 points, while Emmanuel Wade and Rahim Lockhart scored 10 points each.

Ole Miss continued to pull away in the second half, with its biggest lead 77-36 with 9:22 left on a 3-pointer by Harper. The Rebels finished 10-of-22 from 3-point range.

Harper had three 3-pointers in the first half while Flanigan finished 5-of-6 from 3-point range.

Morris Brown got 15 points from Kareem Allison, while Akeim Claborn had 11 and Hicks added 10.
