AUSTIN (AP) -- Maurice Evans scored 17 points to lead No. 25 Texas to a 74-43 win over North Carolina-Asheville on Thursday night. Texas (9-2) never trailed and had its biggest lead, 69-34, with 4:07 remaining. The Longhorns held UNC-Asheville scoreless for nearly 14 minutes in the second half. UNC-Asheville shot 26 percent for the game and were three-of-20 in the second. Brett Carey led UNC-Asheville with nine points. Texas scored the first five points and led 22-8 with 8:50 remaining in the first half on a 3-pointer by Brandon Mouton.
