MALIBU, Calif. (AP) _ Craig Lewis scored a career-high 20 points and Brandon Armstrong added 19 as Pepperdine held off a second-half comeback attempt to beat Gonzaga 80-69 on Saturday. The Waves (19-6, 9-1 West Coast Conference) have won 10 of their last 11 games. Gonzaga was the only WCC team to defeat them. Casey Cavalry scored 19 points and Matt Santangelo added 15 for Gonzaga (19-6, 9-1), which had won 11 games an a row. Nick Sheppard grabbed 10 rebounds, Kelvin Gibbs scored 12 points and David Lalazarian added 11 for the Waves, who led 45-32 at halftime. A 3-pointer by Lewis with 9:32 remaining gave the Waves their biggest lead of the game at 67-48. But Pepperdine went scoreless for the next 5:53, and Gonzaga poured in 12 straight points to pull to 67-60. Gibbs broke the Waves' scoring drought with a key three-point play with 3:30 left to push Pepperdine's lead back to 10 and seal the victory. Gonzaga's Richie Frahm, the WCC's leading scorer, missed all 12 of his field goal attempts and was held to six points.
