BOX SCORE
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) _ Chris Mihm had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 14 Texas to a 72-59 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday night. Chris Owens added 14 points, Darren Kelley and William Clay had 11 apiece and Lawrence Williams scored 10 for the Longhorns (12-5, 4-1). Tech (9-6, 0-4) used an undersized lineup with 6-foot-10 Andy Ellis out for the season with a shoulder injury. The Red Raiders only had three players taller than 6-7, while the Longhorns frontline includes the 7-foot Mihm and four other players taller then 6-7. Rayford Young scored 18 points to lead Tech. Layne and Mitchell added 11 apiece. Texas' 30-20 halftime lead dwindled to 39-38 with 12:16 left in the game. But Texas' size and 3-point shooting helped the Longhorns pull away. Darren Kelly hit three of four 3-pointers as Texas shot 42.9 percent from behind the arc in the game. Tech only hit 17.6 percent of its 3-pointers.
