Suns' Marion takes seat vs. Nuggets

PHOENIX – Shawn Marion, who suffered a setback in practice Friday, missed his third straight game Saturday when the Suns hosted the Denver Nuggets.

Marion sustained a Grade 3 concussion, the most severe type, and a sprained right wrist on March 25 when he soared high for a rebound in the final minute of Phoenix's 90-80 victory over Utah and came down on the back of the Jazz's John Starks.

Marion was expected to take part in a full practice on Friday for the first time since suffering the injuries. Had that gone well, he would have been green-lighted to play against Denver. However, the pain in his wrist forced him to cut practice short.

"I couldn't shoot or dribble the ball," Marion told the Arizona Republic.

The Suns beat the Nuggets 97-82 but lost the first two games they played without Marion, who was averaging 21.8 points and 13.4 in his last four games before getting hurt.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
