"Tim Young is a true center who, at seven feet, can step out to 17 feet and hit an open jumpshot. Young has excellent footwork and passes the ball well, but is not blessed with a scorers mentality. Young has a decent touch, but does not seem to power the ball up inside and finish plays. In other words, Young will not grab an offensive rebound, bring it down and go back up to dunk it. He can rebound and mix it up inside, with the strength to defend the post and rebound, but he is not aggressive in looking to get the ball or doing something with it once he gets it inside. Because he is so fundamentally sound with such great size and athletic ability, Young will get a chance with a team that needs a back up. If he gets with the right team, he can be a capable reserve center in the League."
