ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Allan Houston scored 20 points and Larry Johnson added 18 to lead the New York Knicks to an 89-79 victory over the Washington Wizards in NBA preseason play Monday night. The Wizards' only lead came 3:36 into the first quarter when Juwan Howard scored the first points of the game. Howard went on to score 18 points and pull down 12 rebounds. The Wizards' Tracy Murray added 20 points. The Knicks led by two at the end of the first quarter and were up 50-39 at the half. Johnson gave the Knicks the best performance of his injury-shortened preseason. In 28 minutes, he went 6-for-8 from the field and 5-for-6 from the line, and grabbed seven rebounds. But the game was marred by frequent foul calls, prompting repeated boos from the more than 8,000 people in attendance. Players looked confused and neither team settled into their plays until the second half. The Wizards went 13-for-16 from the line in the first half. The Knicks shot 18 free throws by the half, making 16. The teams finished with a combined 64 personal fouls.
