VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Tim Duncan had 31 points and 11 rebounds, and Terry Porter added a season-high 22 points, as the San Antonio Spurs picked up their second road win in two nights by beating the Vancouver Grizzlies 107-99 Sunday.

Duncan poured in 11 third-quarter points as San Antonio, which beat the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, broke open a close game by outscoring the Grizzlies 30-16 in the period to lead 87-71.

San Antonio (49-28) moved within 3 1/2 games of first-place Utah in the Midwest Division, and stayed a half-game behind fourth-place Phoenix in the Western Conference standings.

Earlier Sunday, the Jazz lost to Houston 99-90, while Phoenix beat Sacramento 102-97.

The Spurs, who are 15-3 overall against Vancouver, got 19 points from David Robinson and 10 points and 10 assists from Avery Johnson.

Mike Bibby scored 24 points, Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Michael Dickerson scored 20 for Vancouver, which got seven points from its reserves.

Dickerson had only four in the second half.

San Antonio led 92-75 with 10:31 remaining, but Vancouver went on a 10-2 run to cut the lead to nine with just under seven minutes to go. And Bibby's 32-foot 3-pointer to beat the shot clock pulled the Grizzlies within 104-95 with 2:28 remaining, but the teams traded baskets the rest of the way as Vancouver's record fell to 21-55.

The Grizzlies used a 13-2 burst to take a 29-24 lead after one quarter. They kept it going in the second and led 38-26 before the defending champion Spurs rallied to take a four-point lead.

San Antonio shot 61.5 percent from the field for the first half and led 57-55 at the break.

Vancouver was 19-of-19 on free throws, while the Spurs went 21-of-27.

Notes: San Antonio is 20-20 on the road, 29-8 at home. ... This was the last of 18 sets of back-to-back games for the Spurs, who beat the Lakers 98-80 in Los Angeles on Saturday. The Spurs are 25-11 overall in back-to-backs, and 12-6 in the second games, including 7-3 on the road. ... The Grizzlies, who lost at Portland 98-85 on Saturday, played their 16th back-to-back game, with one more set to go. They are 7-25 overall in those games, and 5-11 in the second games. ... Spurs swingman Mario Elie missed his third straight game with a sprained right ankle.
