Kidd, who grew up in Oakland and starred in college at nearby California, came within one rebound of his sixth triple-double of the season. He leads active players with 31 career triple-doubles.

Clifford Robinson had 25 points, Rodney Rogers had 21 and Penny Hardaway had 16 for the Suns, who have won 15 of their last 17 games against the Warriors. Rogers, who hit all five of his 3-point attempts, had 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Larry Hughes had 25 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five steals for the Warriors, who have lost nine of 10. Jason Caffey added 20 points for Golden State.

Trailing by seven points at halftime, the Warriors opened the third period with an 11-2 run. The streak was capped by Hughes' 3-pointer, giving Golden State a 58-56 lead with 7:55 left in the quarter.

But Phoenix responded with a 12-2 run, including a 3-pointer by Kidd, to take a 68-60 lead. Another 3 by Kidd gave the Suns a 73-64 lead with 1½ minutes left in the period. Phoenix led 76-66 entering the fourth quarter.

After Caffey opened the final period with a dunk, Rogers scored 10 points as the Suns went on an 11-0 run that made it 87-68. The run was capped by an alley-oop from Kidd to Rogers for a slam.

Robinson had 19 points and Kidd had 10 assists as the Suns, who are 7-3 on the road since the All-Star break, took a 54-47 halftime lead. Phoenix led by as many as 15 points early in the second quarter.

Hughes had 15 points and Caffey added 12 in the first half for Golden State, which has lost five straight at home.
