SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Samaki Walker came off the bench to score a season-high 18 points and grab 10 rebounds to help the San Antonio Spurs to a 102-82 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night.

David Robinson and Tim Duncan each chipped in 13 points, with Robinson grabbing 12 rebounds and Duncan 10. Playing in his third game since returning earlier in the week from a kidney transplant, Sean Elliott had a season-high five points in 14 minutes.

Chris Gatling led Denver with 23 points off the bench, while Antonio McDyess added 16.

After taking a 55-48 lead early in the third quarter, San Antonio went on a 16-2 run to go ahead 71-50 on Jerome Kersey's jump shot with 1:42 to play in the quarter.

Denver closed the quarter on a 9-2 run and trailed 73-59 going to the fourth, but the Nuggets could get no closer the rest of the way as Walker led San Antonio with eight points in the final quarter.

Spurred by Elliott's 3-point field goal, San Antonio went on a 14-0 first-quarter run and led 24-14 after one.

Gatling kept the Nuggets in the game in the first half with 14 points. Duncan had nine first half points as San Antonio led 47-39 at halftime.

Game notes
The Spurs have defeated Denver seven straight times in San Antonio and now own a 47-11 lead over the Nuggets in games played at home . . . The Spurs won the season series 3-1. . . . San Antonio is now 25-8 at the Alamodome this season . . . Saturday's double-double was the 144th of Duncan's career, the most in the NBA over the last two-plus years . . . Tariq Abdul-Wahad did not play for Denver because of a sprained left wrist.
