Tim Duncan had 13 points in 30 minutes and David Robinson added 12 points, nine rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals in 23 minutes as the Spurs surged to a 23-4 lead at the start and led 30-14 after one quarter and 63-33 at the half.

Roshown McLeod led the Hawks with 15 points and Jason Terry added 13. Dikembe Mutombo had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

San Antonio's biggest lead of the game came when Johnson hit a 20-footer to put the Spurs ahead 57-24 with 3:13 left in the second quarter.
