SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- The Sacramento Kings did just fine
without Chris Webber.

Webber fouled out and played just 20 minutes, but Predrag
Stojakovic was one of many reserves who stepped forward, scoring a
season-high 21 points as the Kings built an early lead in routing
the Seattle Supersonics 118-85.
The bench produced 56 points, helping Sacramento post its
biggest margin of victory against Seattle.
"I don't care about the points or any of that. The important
thing was we won tonight," Webber said. "This was a much-needed
win. We definitely needed it."
The Kings entered the game coming off two straight losses,
allowing an average of 118 points. A team noted for its flashy
offense, the Kings also played some defense, holding the Sonics to
36 percent shooting (30-of-84).
"We didn't expect the Kings to be flat. They're always
energetic," Sonics coach Paul Westphal said. "Everyone knew they
would be hungry for this win. The Kings got a lot of fastbreak
points. You get those off turnovers and missed shots, and we
provided plenty of both."
Sacramento, which had lost eight of 13, led by 18 at the half
and went ahead by as many as 23 in the fourth quarter.
Reserve Jon Barry made two 3-pointers and scored 12 points.
Subbing for Webber, who finished with 12 points, Scot Pollard had
eight points and 14 rebounds.
"With Chris in foul trouble, everyone had to step up and they
did," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "Scot came in and did a
great job rebounding and then we went to Vlade (Divac) and when he
was doubled, he kicked it out to an open man."
Sacramento's starters contributed as well. Corliss Williamson
had 15 points and Jason Williams scored 13 points and had seven
assists for the Kings, who made 11 3-pointers. Divac added 11
points and nine rebounds and Nick Anderson also scored 11.
Gary Payton, who had a career-high 41 points in his last game, shot 4-of-19, finishing with 13 points and 12 assists.
"We played a lousy game," Westphal said. "The Kings are a
good team and they've drilled a bunch of teams here. We should have
played better than we did."
Brent Barry made five 3-pointers and had 21 points for Seattle. Vin Baker scored 19 points and had eight rebounds.
Stojakovic, who had four of the Kings' 11 3-pointers, made
consecutive 3s in the fourth quarter.
"I know I have to step up and make my shots when they are
doubling up on guys down low," Stojakovic said. Trailing by 18,
Seattle opened the third with 10 straight points, six coming on
3-pointers by Barry.
Sacramento responded with a 15-4 run. The Kings built the lead
to a high of 21 points and led 82-64 heading into the fourth
period.
The Kings enjoyed an outstanding first half as they shot 51
percent, outrebounded the Sonics and used a big second quarter to
go ahead 62-44.
Game notes
Williamson scored nine straight points in the first
quarter, helping the Kings take a 29-18 lead. ... Payton had eight
early points, then went scoreless the next 27 minutes before making
a 3-pointer with 2:38 remaining in the third. ... The Kings took
only three free throws through three quarters. ... Webber picked up
his fifth foul early in the third quarter, went to the bench, then
fouled out after several minutes in the fourth.
