ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Reserve Corey Maggette scored 15 points and Ron Mercer and John Amaechi had 14 each as the Orlando Magic won for the eighth time in their last 10 games, 107-96 over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Orlando outscored Washington 33-20 in the third quarter to take a 14-point lead and stretched it to 22 in the fourth as the Magic pulled away. Darrell Armstrong had 13 points for Orlando and his backup, Chucky Atkins, added 11. Ben Wallace had 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Juwan Howard scored 20 points, Mitch Richmond had 14 and Jahidi White added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Wizards. Maggette's jumper gave Orlando a 103-83 lead but Washington's Mitch Richmond scored the next seven points, including back-to-back 3-pointers, to close Orlando's lead to 103-90 with 3:37 remaining. Washington couldn't get below double digits the remainder of the game and has lost three games in a row. Pat Garrity hit a jump shot at the buzzer to give Orlando a 53-52 halftime lead. Orlando led 50-41 with 5:26 remaining in the half but Washington finished on an 11-3 run. Howard led Washington with 14 points on six of eight shooting. Orlando was led by Amaechi who also was six of eight for 12 points. Notes: Washington's Richard Hamilton left the game with 8:13 remaining after twisting his ankle. ... Orlando has won 12 of the last 13 meetings at home against Washington. ... White's 16 rebounds were a career high. ... The Wizards committed 18 turnovers compared to eight by the Magic.
