OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Golden State Warriors found a team they could beat -- the struggling Orlando Magic. Antawn Jamison had a career-high 32 points Monday as the Warriors snapped their 12-game losing streak with a 113-100 defeat of the Magic, who have lost seven straight. Donyell Marshall added 20 points, 13 rebounds and tied his career high with seven assists. The Warriors, who took control with a 16-0 run early in the fourth period, got their first win since general manager Garry St. Jean replaced P.J. Carlesimo as coach on Dec. 27. "I feel good for the guys. There were a lot of smiles in the locker room," St. Jean said. "I learned a long time ago, if you don't celebrate wins, the losses are a lot harder to take." Tariq Abdul-Wahad had 19 points and Darrell Armstrong added 18 for Orlando, which like Golden State has only one win since the start of the new year. Orlando has lost 12 of its last 13 games. The Warriors, who won for the first time this season when trailing after the third period, shot 51 percent -- the first time since mid-December they've hit more than half their shots. "We're not doing our job on defense, we're not stopping people," Armstrong said. "So we've just got to re-evaluate ourselves and check ourselves and start getting some stops. That's the only way we can win games. We can't be giving up that many points." The Magic led 76-75 heading into the fourth period and Chris Gatling hit a shot to give the Magic a three-point lead with 11:46 remaining. But Orlando did not score again for the next 6:34, by which point the Warriors led 91-78. Jamison had seven points, Vonteego Cummings had six and Marshall had three during the 16-0 run. "It's been a while," Jamison said. "Instead of finding a way to lose, tonight we found a way to win. Tonight we definitely stayed together as a team." Orlando's Michael Doleac said the Magic played with much less intensity than the Warriors, who won for the first time this season when an opponent scored 100 or more points. "We just didn't come out aggressive defensively," Doleac said. "They were running up and down having fun, and we were just out there. We weren't into it, we weren't passionate about it." The attendance was announced at 8,893, the lowest of the season for the Warriors at their 19,596-capacity Oakland Arena, but there appeared to be only about half that number at the game. Referees' calls reverberated around the arena. With both their regular centers sidelined by injuries, the Warriors started 6-foot-9 Marshall at center. Adonal Foyle missed the game with a sprained right ankle and Erick Dampier is rehabilitating his left knee after offseason surgery. Game notesThe Warriors had lost seven straight at home. It was their first win since a 111-99 home victory over Sacramento on Dec. 20. ... St. Jean had been winless in nine games since taking over as coach. ... Forward Derek Strong, activated by Orlando on Sunday night after spending the entire season on the injured list with Achilles tendinitis, played in the closing minute for the Magic and hit his only shot, a 3-pointer. ... Armstrong extended his streak to 36 consecutive successful free throws by going 3-for-3. He has not missed a foul shot since Dec. 22 at Cleveland. ... The Magic had additional incentive to beat the Warriors. Thanks to the 1993 draft-day trade that sent Chris Webber to Golden State for Penny Hardaway, the Magic own the rights to the Warriors' first-round draft pick after this season.
