SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Garbage time came early Saturday night. The San Antonio Spurs scored 27 points before Orlando made a single basket, routing the Magic 127-92. "It was a game we didn't expect," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "Both of us had tough travel schedules. I'm proud of the energy we showed. They came out with dedication to rebounding and running the floor." The Spurs used a 24-0 run to take a 27-4 lead. Orlando, coached by former Spurs player Doc Rivers, missed its first nine shots from the field and had six turnovers before Monty Williams made a layup with 3:39 left in the first period. "This was the worst of the year," said Rivers, whose team has now lost seven of eight. "We are an energy team and tonight we had no energy. Maybe some teams can play with little energy and do well, but not us." Tim Duncan scored 22 points for San Antonio in just 27 minutes. David Robinson had 15 points and 13 rebounds in just 21 minutes. Reserve Malik Rose had 19 points and seven rebounds in a team-high 29 minutes. "When you are struggling and the other team is hitting its shots, everything becomes magnified, everything becomes bigger," Robinson said. "That's what happened tonight." Corey Maggette, the only starter for either team to play in the fourth quarter, lead Orlando with 17 points. The Spurs had a 48-point lead at 102-54 late in the third quarter. San Antonio, averaging 95.6 points, hit the 100 mark on an 18-foot jumper by Chucky Brown with 3:39 left in the third quarter. "Any time you give up 75 points in a half, you can't expect a good result," Magic guard Chucky Atkins said. "But that is life in the NBA. At times it is difficult. They kind of suffocated our offense tonight." San Antonio won in dominating fashion for the second night in a row after losing five of seven. The Spurs beat Phoenix 102-83 on the road Friday night. "This was huge, maybe it will snowball into other wins," said Duncan as the Spurs prepped for a tough stretch with seven games against Western Conference playoff contenders in their next ten.
