Traded by the Detroit Tigers with OF Todd Steverson to the San Diego Padres for OF Melvin Nieves and P Richie Lewis on March 22 ... Compiled a 3-1 record and a 2.75 ERA in 27 relief appearances with San Diego ... Gave up only one run and two hits in eight innings in his National League debut to earn the victory ... Retired the first 10 hitters he faced in 10 consecutive relief appearances from Aug. 12 to Sept. 19 ... Collected his first Major League hit and RBI on Apr. 17 at Colorado ... Hit his first Major League home run on June 12 vs. Cincinnati.
