Made major-league debut in an April 11 relief appearance at Atlanta ... Notched seven strikeouts over six innings in his first big-league start, April 14 vs. San Diego ... He retired the first nine batters he faced that day, and picked off San Diego stars Roberto Alomar and Tony Gwynn on consecutive plays in the fourth inning ...
