GAME LOG
NEW YORK (AP) -- Wednesday's game between the Montreal Expos and New York Mets was postponed because of rain. It was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Thursday starting at 12:10 p.m. ET. Grant Roberts of the Mets is to make his major league debut in the opener, pitching against Mike Thurman (2-1). Mike Hampton (9-7) is scheduled to start the second game for New York against Hideki Irabu (2-4), who has been on the disabled list since arthroscopic surgery May 31 to repair torn cartilage in his right knee. The Mets optioned infielder David Lamb to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday and purchased the contract of Roberts from Norfolk. | ALSO SEE Baseball Scoreboard Montreal Clubhouse NY Mets Clubhouse RECAPS Toronto 8 Cleveland 1
