MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Jose Hernandez and Tyler Houston each hit solo homers as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped the Philadelphia Phillies' five-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory Thursday night.

Jeff D'Amico (4-4) breezed through the first and second innings, but struggled the rest of the way. He worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the third, then stranded two in the fourth after surrendering Brian Hunter's solo shot.

D'Amico left after giving up two-out singles to Bobby Abreu and Scott Rolen in the seventh. He gave up eight hits and two walks, but struck out three to help the Brewers snap their three-game losing streak and avoid being swept.

Curtis Leskanic relieved in the seventh, and after giving up a single to Mike Lieberthal to load the bases, retired Ron Gant on a flyball to end the inning.

All-Star Bob Wickman got three outs for his 12th save in 15 chances, giving up Rolen's RBI single with two outs in the ninth.

Phillies starter Paul Byrd (2-7) held the Brewers to six hits through 6 1-3 innings, but two of the hits were two-out solo homers.

Hernandez's 10th homer made it 1-0 in the second, and Houston's sixth made it 2-0 an inning later.

Byrd, who struck out four and walked two, stopped the Brewers from padding their 2-1 lead in the fourth.

Two singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out, but Byrd got both D'Amico and Ron Belliard on called third strikes.

Belliard's RBI triple after a walk to Henry Blanco in the seventh finished Byrd.

Geoff Jenkins added an RBI single in the eighth to make it 4-1.

Notes: Rolen extended his hitting streak to 14 games, tying his career high set from July 24-Aug. 7, 1997. ... Neither starting pitcher faced his opponent before Thursday. ... Hernandez, normally at third for the Brewers, played shortstop for the 11th time and made fielding errors in the first and third innings.
