PHOENIX (AP) -- Cincinnati manager Jack McKeon didn't get any arguments Sunday when he pulled his starters early. Aaron Boone had a career-high five RBIs and Barry Larkin went 4-for-4, including a double in Cincinnati's five-run first inning, as the Reds beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 14-2. Larkin was one of several Cincinnati regulars taken out of the game after the top of the fifth -- another five-run outburst. They included Ken Griffey Jr., who argued with his father, Reds coach Ken Griffey, after being pulled out of Saturday's game. "They didn't complain today," McKeon said with a laugh. "They already had their work in." Boone, Chris Stynes and Alex Ochoa each had three hits for the Reds, who finished with a season-high 20 hits off six pitchers. "You go through up and downs during the season," said Boone, who hit his second homer in as many days. "I've felt the last three weeks that I've gotten my hits but I never felt locked in. This makes for a nice day." The 14 runs were the most at Phoenix by a visiting team. "It sure was nice to sit back and relax and not put a lot of pressure on our pitcher," McKeon said. "We needed one like that." The Reds added two runs each in the second and fourth innings to build a 14-1 lead. Denny Neagle (7-2) scattered eight hits in seven innings and helped his own cause with a double and an RBI single. "That's definitely a bonus," Neagle said of his 2-for-4 day. "Anytime you can get a 'two-for' as a pitcher, that's really fun." Steve Finley hit his 24th home run for the Diamondbacks, a solo shot in the fourth. Omar Daal (2-9), who has not pitched past the fifth inning in his last three starts, allowed seven runs and seven hits in 1 1/3 innings with three walks -- two intentional. He hasn't won since May 25 against Pittsburgh and has lost six of his last seven decisions. "I've just got to go out and do my job," Daal said. "It's not like this year is going to end next week. I've got to get ahead of the hitters. When I get behind 2-0, I want to throw a strike so I throw it right down the middle. That's when they get their base hits." Stynes led off the game with an infield single and Larkin lined a double off the bullpen wall in left. Griffey, back in the lineup after twisting his right knee Saturday, hit a soft grounder to first to score Stynes for a 1-0 lead. Dante Bichette singled home Larkin, and Boone walked. Daal struck out Dmitri Young, and Ochoa hit a two-run double off the wall in right-center field to make it 4-0. Daal intentionally walked Benito Santiago and Neagle blooped an RBI single to left. Mike Morgan, who started and took the loss on Friday, gave up a two-run single to Boone in the second. Game notesThe game was interrupted in the top of the fifth by a fan running in from right field and sliding head first into second base. ... Finley has homered in four of his last five games after going 20 games without one. ... The Reds are 15-6 against the Diamondbacks and have won eight of the last nine. ... Young, one of two Reds' starters not to get a hit, struck out three times. ... The Reds placed RHP Manny Aybar on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin and purchased the contract of RHP Andy Larkin from Triple-A Louisville.
