MONTREAL (AP) -- The last thing the Colorado Rockies needed to do was make Vladimir Guerrero angry. Guerrero hit his 100th career home run and raised his NL-leading average to .452 in the Montreal Expos' 9-2 victory over the Rockies on Wednesday night. Guerrero, who singled in his first two at-bats, was hit in the right hand by Kevin Jarvis' first pitch in the sixth after the Rockies' starter was visited by pitching coach Marcel Lachemann. Guerrero shouted at Jarvis, and was escorted down the first-base line by plate umpire Rick Reed. "The only reason I got upset was because it's twice now that I've gotten hit after a visit to the pitcher by the other team's pitching coach," Guerrero said as bench coach Luis Pujols interpreted. "Both times, I only had one pitch thrown at me." Jarvis (1-1) denied hitting Guerrero intentionally. "I think it was a pretty good pitch," Jarvis said. "It was just off the plate, inside." Both managers came out of the dugout, with Montreal's Felipe Alou pointing at Colorado's Buddy Bell. "The trouble is that it doesn't look good when a coach goes out and talks to the pitcher, and the next pitch hits the batter," Alou said. "It didn't look good 30 years ago, and it doesn't look good today. I was surprised to see their manager going to the plate when it was our guy that got hit." In the eighth, Guerrero hit a drive off Julian Tavarez for a 420-foot home run. "I felt I had to do something after I got hit," Guerrero said. Guerrero stood and watched as the ball cleared the fence before breaking into his home-run trot. He came out of the dugout for a curtain call to acknowledge the cheers from the crowd of 10,735. The 24-year-old Guerrero has 100 home runs in 1,657 career at-bats. Guerrero's brother, Wilton, had a two-run, pinch-hit double that put the Expos ahead 3-1 in the seventh. Montreal scored six times in the eighth, capped by Rondell White's two-run double. The Expos won their third in a row and finished 6-2 on their homestand. Dustin Hermanson (3-1) allowed one run and three hits in seven innings. "It felt pretty good," Hermanson said. "It's just been a total team effort. I just put the ball in play and they've been coming through with the plays for me." Mike Lansing's RBI single off Scott Strickland with one out in the eighth drew the Rockies to within 3-2. Ugueth Urbina got the last five outs for his sixth save in eight opportunities. Hermanson, who pitched his second career shutout at Philadelphia on April 14, has lowered his ERA from 6.55 to 2.57 over his last three starts. Jarvis, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Colorado Springs before his first start last Friday in St. Louis, allowed three runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings. "I felt good out there," Jarvis said. "I felt I was making good pitches." Game notesRockies outfielder Larry Walker was rested and didn't start for Colorado. ... The Rockies have been outhomered 32-17 by their opponents through their first 22 games. ... Colorado is scheduled to play just 18 games on artificial turf this season, six of them at Olympic Stadium. ... Expos LHP Graeme Lloyd experienced pain in his left shoulder after throwing a few pitches on the side before the game. Currently on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left shoulder, Lloyd will have an MRI performed when the team travels to California later this week. ... RHP Brad Rigby, acquired from Kansas City Tuesday for Miguel Batista, was in uniform and available out of the bullpen. ...
