MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) _ Jaret Wright, coming off back-to-back sub-par outings, pitched four scoreless innings Monday as the Cleveland Indians beat Florida 8-2, handing the Marlins their fifth consecutive loss. Wright, who has won three of four decisions this spring, gave up three hits and three walks. He also struck out two. The 24-year-old right-hander struggled in his previous two starts, allowing 11 runs, 13 hits and six walks in 5 2-3 innings. ``I threw more strikes today and I threw my offspeed for strikes,'' Wright said. ``If you don't, you get hammered and you're going to walk guys. But when you're around the plate, it makes your job a lot easier.'' Wright went a combined 20-13 with a 4.61 ERA in his first two seasons. But he spent parts of last year on the disabled list, making just one start after the All-Star break, and finished 8-10 with a 6.06 ERA. ``He had good velocity on the ball,'' Indians manager Charlie Manuel said. ``That's what I wanted to see. I saw a lot better stuff.'' The Indians sent 10 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring five runs off Jesus Sanchez. Travis Fryman and Roberto Alomar hit back-to-back home runs, with Fryman connecting for a three-run shot. ``That's a loaded team,'' Marlins manager John Boles said. ``They've got a lot of weapons.'' Sanchez entered with a 1.17 ERA. But after giving up six runs in five innings, his average jumped to 3.54. The Marlins, who have been outscored 55-10 in the losing streak, added a run in the sixth and one in the seventh. Kevin Millar, battling Derrek Lee for the starting first base job, hit his team-leading fifth home run of the spring. Millar improved his average to .429. ``It's going to be down to the wire,'' Boles said. ``It could be decided the last day.'' David Justice and Jacob Cruz each doubled twice for the Indians.
