TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ Scott Schoeneweis bid for a spot in Anaheim's rotation was derailed Sunday as the left-hander was pounded for seven runs in six innings of the Angels' 14-11 win over the San Diego Padres. Schoeneweis, who allowed 11 hits and nine earned runs against the White Sox in his previous start, gave up 11 more hits to San Diego. In his first three appearances, Schoeneweis had allowed just three earned runs in 12 innings. ``I just felt that I gave up only a few balls that have been hit hard and I've give up 16 runs,'' Schoeneweis said. ``Very few mistakes have turned into 16 runs. Despite the rocky outing, Schoeneweis picked up the victory as the Angels hit Padres starter Woody Williams even harder. Williams allowed 12 hits and nine earned runs over five innings. The Angels wasted no time getting to Williams. Darin Erstad, Adam Kennedy, Mo Vaughn, Tim Salmon and Garret Anderson hit singles in succession to start the first for the Angels. Troy Glaus followed with a two-run double for a 4-0 Angels lead. Schoeneweis allowed a two-run double to Ruben Rivera in the third. He gave up five hits during a five-run fifth, highlighted by Rivera's triple and a two-run double by Brett Boone that tied the score at 7. ``I was happy with his stuff,'' Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. ``He wasn't quite where he's like to be. That was a good lineup he was facing and that's going to happen.'' Rivera finished with six RBI and three hits. Erstad had four hits. Anderson was 3-for-3. Salmon added a solo homer in the third. Scott Spiezio led off the Angels' fourth with a homer.
