PHOENIX (AP) _ Alex Rodriguez hit a pair of long homers off Jason Bere and drove in six runs Monday, leading the Seattle Mariners over the Milwaukee Brewers 16-3. Rodriguez hit a two-run homer in the first, a 415-foot drive to left-center, and a three-run homer in the second, a 430-foot shot. Rodriguez also hit an RBI single, accounting for three of Seattle's 20 hits off six pitchers. John Mabry was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Willie Bloomquist hit a three-run triple. Bere, who had looked sharp in earlier outings, allowed six runs, five hits and three walks in two innings. Curtis Leskanic, who has struggled with his control this spring, gave up two runs, two hits and two walks in one inning. Rookie right-hander Paul Stewart was tagged for eight runs and seven hits in the ninth, but two runs were unearned because of an error. In addition, two routine fly balls that were lost in the sun. Winner Jamie Moyer gave up three hits in four scoreless innings. Jose Fernandez and Lyle Mouton drove in runs for the Brewers, who grounded into three double plays. Milwaukee, 4-7 under first-year manager Davey Lopes, has scored three runs in its last 18 innings.
