VIERA, Fla. (AP) _ Cal Ripken went 1-for-4 in his return to Baltimore's lineup as the Orioles beat the Florida Marlins 2-1 Friday night. Ripken singled in his first at-bat, hit two long flyouts and made a diving stop of a Mark Smith grounder in the eighth. On Thursday, Ripken hurt his neck from batting practice and was scratched from the Orioles' lineup. Baltimore starter Calvin Maduro needed just 22 pitches to get through two innings, allowing one hit. With Scott Erickson out for the first month of the season, Maduro has a chance to become the Orioles' fifth starter. ``I cannot put pressure on myself,'' Maduro said. ``If I put pressure on myself, I can't do my best.'' Florida starter Ryan Dempster allowed two hits in four shutout innings, striking out three. ``He was great out there tonight,'' Marlins manager John Boles said. ``Ryan was throwing as good as can be expected at this point of the season.'' Baltimore scored twice in the seventh on Will Clark's RBI single, which got past center fielder Julio Ramirez for an error, and another error by left fielder Brant Brown, who bobbled Mike Bordick's single as Clark came around from second. Danny Bautista tripled in the ninth and scored on Pablo Ozuna's sacrifice fly.
