Unbeaten teams keep streaks going

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

Jan. 19, 2004 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down...

Unbeatens -- Stanford, Cincinnati, St. Joe's and Pittsburgh are still unbeaten in college hoops. We'll see if the Panthers remain unbeaten when they face Connecticut on Big Monday!

Jamie Dixon -- The 38-year-old coach of the Panthers has been the diaper dandy of college coaches, but I think his unbeaten streak will end against an angry UConn team.

Gene Keady
Keady

Gene Keady -- The Purdue coach got his 500th win with an upset of Wisconsin.

Detroit Pistons -- They are riding a 12-game winning streak behind the phenomenal job that coach Larry Brown is doing.

John Fox and Bill Belichick -- These two coaches have done a great job leading their respective teams to the Super Bowl. Also deserving a salute are cornerbacks Ty Law and Ricky Manning Jr. for each having three interceptions in their respective championship games.

Kentucky Wildcats -- The Wildcats were stunned by a Georgia Bulldogs team that lost its first two SEC games by more than 20 points apiece. This loss snapped Kentucky's 21-game SEC win streak. It was shock city at Rupp Arena, baby!

NCAA -- The 3-point line should be moved back, but the NCAA didn't approve a rules change that would've allowed it last week.

New York Knicks -- They could've handled the firing of coach Don Chaney with much more dignity than they did. On the bright side, the Knicks are 2-0 since hiring Lenny Wilkens.

Jeff Garcia -- The 49ers quarterback was charged with DUI.
