Watson steps it up
for Bruins in Pac-10

Earl Watson
UCLA

Point guard Earl Watson keys the attack for UCLA.

UCLA (unranked ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) is making its move with big road wins over Stanford, USC and DePaul. On Thursday the Bruins (15-6, 8-2 Pac-10) return to Pauley Pavilion to face No. 8 Arizona (17-6, 9-2).

Earl Watson has shown a real passion during Pac-10 play. He's the floor general and leader for Steve Lavin's team.

Watson has to be at his magical best against the Wildcats. Lavin would love to see another performance like the near perfection displayed against Maryland at last year's NCAA tournament.

What a great matchup as he goes head-to-head against Jason Gardner. Watson has to do a good job conducting the offensive sets and orchestrating the attack. Arizona is a team on a mission, trying to make up for early-season disappointing losses.

Watson has to keep turnovers down to a minimum. Can the Earl of Westwood take the Bruins to the winner's circle?
