Dupay sets tone for Gators

Florida's Teddy Dupay shows Michigan State's Charlie Bell his all-out style.
Teddy Dupay has helped Florida regain some momentum. Remember, early on the Gators were 1-3 in SEC play. Florida has Dupay in the lineup and there are a couple of big games against Kentucky and Arkansas this week.

Who would have dreamed that less than three weeks after back surgery to repair a herniated disc, Dupay would contribute as he has.

Last week against Tennessee and Georgia, he shocked the Rowdy Reptiles by not only returning to action but also logging big-time minutes. Dupay should get better and better with more playing time.

He scored 10 points in 15 minutes against the Vols. Dupay added 14 points in 19 minutes at Georgia.

It was more than the instant offense he provided, including three of four trifectas against the Bulldogs. Dupay's hustle and scrappy performance really set the tone. His teammates feed off his enthusiasm and spirit.

Opposing defenders have to worry about Dupay and Brett Nelson on the outside, along with Udonis Haslem and Brent Wright inside. Plus, Matt Bonner can beat you in so many ways.

I call Dupay "Mr. Courageous." He's a fierce competitor and a winner. His presence gives Billy Donovan more of a normal eight-man rotation. The Gators will be a threat come tourney time, thanks in part to the return of Dupay.
